Need to Know:
The 2011 PE basketball draft will be held in the 2nd floor gym on March 10 during 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th periods.
All class members who wish to get drafted must apply March 9th by the end of class. Everyone else will be randomly given their team by Commissioner Maley. Team captains must be prepared with an appropriate team name prior to the draft, as well as a team hat that will be distributed to those who are selected in the lottery (first round).
Those who do not wish to participate during the basketball unit do not have to do so, but they still must dress and partake in the warm-up. Also, they will be assigned to report a game summary during class that will be emailed to Mr. Maley at jjmaley@cps.edu by 9:00 P.M. of that day. Game summaries should be informative, funny, well written, and include proper grammar. Anything thought to be inappropriate will not be posted and no points will be given. Extra credit will be given to any articles that Mr. Maley deems to be exceptionally well written and/or humorous.
Trades: Anyone who has applied for the draft can be traded. All trades must be written down, signed by both captains, and given to Mr. Maley while he is taking attendance. The trade deadline for all periods is 2:10 P.M. on Wednesday, March 30th. The commisioner has the right to veto all trades.
Any player has the right to hold-out or demand a trade, however, if one choses to exercise this right, they must do push-ups, pull-ups, or sit-ups for the duration of their hold-out.
Conduct Detrimental to the League will result in a player being suspended by Commisioner Maley for at least one game! The following behaviors would fall under this category.
1. Swearing or saying anything else that is inappropriate
2. Excessive hogging of the ball
3. Cheating or constantly complaining that someone else is cheating.
4. Excessive arguing
5. Overly physical play
6. Trying to Dunk when you can't (See Mitchell, Santario)
7. Saying that Mr. Maley is cheating for a particular team
8. Complaining about a lack of mention on the blog (Prediction: Darien Hollins is going to lead the league in CPCPABM, otherwise known as Complaints Per Class Period About Blog Mentions)

Attention Reporters: look at the the following completely fictional writing sample that has absolutely zero truth to it as an example for what I am looking for in order to earn your points. You will be assigned a particular team to cover all season. (Note: Exagerations, fake stats, and PE references are highly encouraged)
March 30, 2011 3rd Period
Team Dougie 9
Team Thirsty 14
Joshua Larry led the way for Team Thirsty with six points, ten rebounds, and absolutely zero assists. Teammate Tiya Clark energized Team Thirsty's defense and held Team Dougie's DJ Langston to 2 for 13 shooting from the field. Gary Barker (Otherwise known as GBeezy) controlled tempo from the point guard position and used his vision to dish out ten dimes. For this reason, Mr. Larry decided to treat Barker to a steak dinner to show his appreciation for all the easy baskets that GBeezy helped to create for him.
One would think that a team full of supestars like DJ Langston, Tacina Brown, Kacy Hinton, and Latrell Atwood would be able to win without even breaking a sweat. Not on this day. Good news is, DJ Jazzy Langston proved that he could get his shot off, bad news is that he equally proved that he needed to practice more in the off-season. Atwood, a top player in the league, was uncharacteristically tentative and passed up on a number of quality shots which didn't help Team Dougie's cause. Equally attributable to the team's poor performance was the fact that Kacy Hinton, early front runner for League MVP, was suspended for today's game for hanging on the rim after yesterday's monster dunk over Briana Eubanks. Teammate Tacina Brown filled in admirably, but Team Thirsty was too good on this day. Qwentis Owney recorded a career high 30 push-ups for being the last one to sit down after the whistle was blown an astonishing 3 times. Congratulations Qwentis!

In other unrelated and completely irrelevant news, Mr. Maley successfully avoided hitting his head on top of the first floor gym doorway with a slight neck/knee bend. That raises Maley's life-time door-frame avoidance percentage to 93 percent. Unfortunately, Maley's "unbelievably low ceiling fan" avoidance percentage is not as prolific, remaining at 57% as of Wednesday morning.

Well everybody know saintario is the best and will always be the best so if he goes to the rim please save your self time and effort just move because if you dont u will be posterized its nothing personal we say its "just a game" but to saintario "sometimes it more than that" all saintario want to do is win and he will do what every it takesto win because hes a winner never a loser.
ReplyDeletelove saintario mitchell biggest fan everrrr!!!!
It seems suspicious that Santario's biggest fan decided to remain anonymous. Could this be because his biggest fan is in fact......himself? I think we may have to let top investigate journalist and former Pulitzer Prize winner, Kyndal Buchanan, get to the bottom of this unsolved mystery.
